SEISUN, CEOL AND CEILIS (TRADITIONAL IRISH SOCIAL ACTIVITIES) ARE HELD ON A WEEKLY BASIS. CULTURAL EVENTS ARE HELD THROUGHOUT THE YEAR SUCH AS THE ANNUAL FEISANNA (COMPETITION OF IRISH DANCE), IRISH MUSIC FESTIVALS, AND VARIOUS ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH SAINT PATRICK'S DAY IN EFFORT TO PROMOTE NATIONAL HERITAGE AND CULTURE. MEMBERS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO FURTHER THEIR CULTUTAL AWARENESS AND EDUCATION THROUGH LESSIONS IN GAELIC LANGUAGE, HURLING, GAELIC FOOTBALL AND CEILI DANCING.
COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED ANNUALLY TO GRADUATING HIGHSCHOOL SENIORS OR CURRENT FULL TIME UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS. CANDIDATES QUALIFYING FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP MUST BE MEMBERS OR SONS OR DAUGHTERS OF "MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING" OF THE IRISH AMERICAN HOME SOCIETY. APPLICANTS ARE JUDGED ON MEMBERSHIP YEARS, ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS, EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES, LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION AND AN ESSAY. THE IRISH AMERICAN HOME SOCIETY THROUGH THIS PROGRAM SEEKS STUDENTS WHO; UNDERSTAND /APPRECIATE THEIR HERITAGE; SHOW AND APPRECIATION FOR THE VALUE OF AN EDUCATION AND ARE WILLING TO WORK TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS.
