THE FOUNDATION, THROUGH THE OPERATION OF THE COLLINS PINE MUSEUM, SERVES THE PUBLIC. IT IS AN OPERATING MUSEUM. THE MUSEUM HAS ONE ACTIVITY - THE OPERATION OF A LOGGING AND SAWMILL MUSEUM. IT CHARGES NO ADMISSION FEES AND THEREFORE HAS NO INCOME FROM ITS DIRECT CHARITABLE ACTIVITY. IT IS SUPPORTED BY CASH AND CONTRIBUTIONS OF MUSEUM PROPERTY FROM PARTIES INTERESTED IN PRESERVING THE HISTORY OF THE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA TIMBER INDUSTRY. THE MUSEUM CONSISTS OF A VARIETY OF INTERACTIVE INDOOR EXHIBITS SPREAD OVER APPROXIMATELY 2,500 SQUARE FEET OF FLOOR SPACE AND AN OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT DISPLAY FEATURING 12 PIECES OF RESTORED EQUIPMENT DATING BACK AS FAR AS 1936.
