VFW POST 2498 IS A VETERANS ORGANIZATION THAT PROVIDES SUPPORT TO LOCAL VETERANS OF ALL SERVICES, STRENGTHENS COMRADESHIP WITH POST MEMBERS, PROVIDES FOR PATRIOTIC ACTIVITIES, AND PARTICIPATES IN EDUCATION PROMOTING VETERANS AWARENESS ISSUES AND SUPPORTS CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES IN THE COMMUNITY.

SERVICES TO VETERANS: VFW POST 2498 PROVIDES SUPPORT TO LOCAL VETERANS OF ALL SERVICES AND STRENGTHENS COMRADESHIP WITH POST MEMBERS. THE POST PROVIDES SUPPORT TO LOCAL RETURNING VETERANS WITH FINDING JOB ASSISTANCE AND NETWORKING WITH OTHER VETERANS IN THE AREA. THE POST PROVIDES MONTHLY DINNERS FOR VETERANS AND POST MEMBERS TO ASSIST IN NETWORKING WITH OTHER VETERANS AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS. THE POST A COORDINATION FOCUS FOR VETERANS AND LOCAL HEALTH AND WELLNESS COUNSELLING AS NEEDED. THE POST PROVIDES SUPPORT TO VA HOSPITALS IN OUR LOCAL AREA. SPECIFICALLY BY PROVIDING ACTIVITIES FOR PARAPLEGIC VETERANS. THE POST PROVIDES VISITS TO LOCAL NURSING HOMES AND REHABILITATION CENTERS IN THE COMMUNITY. THE POST PROVIDES ASSISTANCE TO VETERANS AND FAMILY MEMBERS WITH FUNERAL SERVICES OF LOCALLY DECEASED VETERANS.


PATRIOTIC EDUCATION, VETERANS AWARENESS ISSUES, CHARITABLE SERVICE ACTIVITIES: THE VFW POST 2498 PROVIDES EDUCATION ACTIVITIES IN THE COMMUNITY. THE POST CONDUCTS LOCAL CONTESTS FOR HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS (VOICE OF DEMOCRACY AND PATRIOTS PEN) TO SPEAK AND WRITE ON A PATRIOTIC RELATED SUBJECT AS PART OF THE NATIONAL VFW PROGRAM FOR YOUTH EDUCATION. THE CONTESTANTS ALSO ATTEND A DINNER HOSTED BY POST MEMBERS AS RECOGNITION AND RECEIVE AWARDS. THE POST ASSISTS THE TOWN OF NEEDHAM WITH ANNUAL EVENTS ORGANIZING AND PARTICIPATING IN LOCAL VETERANS DAY, MEMORIAL DAY AND INDEPENDENCE DAY ACTIVITIES. THE POST PROVIDES SUPPORT TO THE TOWN'S POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT HONOR GUARDS. THE POST PROVIDES RECOGNITION TO OUTSTANDING TEACHERS IN THE LOCAL SCHOOLS, LAW ENFORCEMENT AND FIRST RESPONDERS.
