Describe the Organization's Mission:

Part 3 - Line 1

THE CAT CONNECTION'S MISSION IS TO CONTROL THE LOCAL FERAL (UNDOMESTICATED) CAT POPULATION THROUGH TRAP-NEUTER-RETURN-MAINTAIN (TNRM) PROGRAMS AND TO FACILITATE THE ADOPTION OF STRAY AND ABANDONED CATS AND KITTENS INTO RESPONSIBLE PERMANENT HOMES THROUGH OUR FOSTER CARE AND ADOPTION PROGRAMS.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

FOSTER PROGRAM - AS PART OF OUR FOSTER PROGRAM FOR THE 145+ CATS IN FOSTER CARE AT ANY GIVEN TIME, WE PURCHASE WET AND DRY CAT FOOD, INCLUDING SOME PRESCRIPTION FOODS FOR CATS WITH MEDICAL ISSUES, LITTER, BEDS, SCRATCHING POSTS, TOWERS, CLEANING SUPPLIES, AND ANYTHING ELSE NEEDED TO GIVE THE CATS GOOD HOMES IN FOSTER CARE UNTIL THEY ARE ADOPTED, WHICH SOMETIMES TAKES YEARS DUE TO THE SLOW SOCILALIZATION OR CHRONIC ILLNESSES OF SOME CATS.

TRAP NEUTER RETURN MAINTAIN (TNRM) - THE CAT CONNECTION SUPPORTED TNRM CATS THROUGH OUR COLONIES WHERE A VOLUNTEER GOES TO FEED ONCE A DAY AND WE TRAP ANY NEW CATS THAT MOVE INTO THE AREA AND NEUTER THEM AND PROVIDE VET CARE. CATS ARE RELEASED IF THEY ARE FERAL, AND PUT IN OUR FOSTER/ADOPTION PROGRAM IF THEY ARE TAME OR SEMI-FERAL. THIS PROGRAM ALSO SUPPORTS THE BUILDING OF WARM HOUSES TO KEEP FERAL CATS WARM IN THE WINTER, AND FEEDING STATIONS TO KEEP THE CAT FOOD UP OFF THE GROUND. AS PART OF THIS PROGRAM, WE SUPPORTED THE HOUSING EXPENSES OF A LARGE FOSTER HOME WHERE MANY FERAL OR SEMI-FERAL CATS WERE HOUSED FOR SOCIALIZATION UNTIL THEY WERE READY FOR ADOPTION. THIS INCLUDED UTILITIES AND SNOW REMOVAL.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT SERVICES - THE CAT CONNECTION SUPPORTS LOW INCOME FAMILIES THROUGH SPAY/NEUTER VOUCHERS, FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR ACUTE VETFARE, AS WELL AS FOOD AND SUPPLIES. AS FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE, THE CATNAPS PROGRAM ACTS AS A SPAY/NEUTER ASSIST PROGRAM FOR LOW INCOME CAT OWNERS.
