HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS: JOB READINESS TRAINING: TASC PROVIDES JOB READINESS TRAINING FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES 10-12. THIS PROGRAM PREPARES STUDENTS TO MEET FUTURE NEEDS OF ALL INDUSTRIES. OUR GOAL IS TO IMPROVE WORK SKILLS OF ENTRY-LEVEL EMPLOYEES. MENTOR PROGRAM: THE MENTOR PROGRAM IS DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS, USUALLY SOPHOMORES OR JUNIORS, WHO ARE INTERESTED IN CAREER EXPLORATION. JOB SHADOWING: JOB SHADOWING PROVIDES STUDENTS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO FOLLOW SOMEONE AT THEIR PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT.OTHER PROGRAMS: TEACHER EXTERNSHIP/PATHWAY PARTNERS: TEACHER EXTERNSHIPS ARE A CREATIVE WAY OF BUILDING STRONG LINKS AND GREATER UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN SCHOOLS AND BUSINESSES WORK ETHICS: THE WORK ETHICS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO ENHANCE A 7TH GRADER'S UNDERSTANDING OF THE WORLD OF WORK.
PROJECT ACHIEVE - PROVIDES ACADEMIC SUPPORT TO STUDENTS WHO HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO PASS THE 10TH GRADE MCAS IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS AND/OR MATH.
YOUTH WORKS/BCTC/PROJECT WIN - THIS PROGRAM ASSISTS AT-RISK YOUTH FROM THE REGION'S MOST DIFFICULT NEIGHBORHOODS, TO OBTAIN SUMMER EMPLOYMENT THAT INCORPORATES WORK-BASED LEARNING, COMMUNITY SERVICE, AND LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES. PROJECT WIN FOCUSES ON ACADEMIC REMEDIATION AND JOB READINESS.
CONNECTING ACTIVITIES - THE SCHOOL-TO-CAREER PROGRAM INTEGRATES SCHOOL-BASED AND WORK-BASED LEARNING THROUGH A VARIETY OF CONNECTING ACTIVITIES. CONNECTS HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH BUSINESS WORK EXPERIENCE THROUGH THE USE OF INTERNSHIPS.
