FAMILIES FIRST PROVIDES ORIGINAL, RESEARCH-BASED PARENTING PROGRAMS FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN FROM BIRTH TO AGE 8 IN UNDER-RESOURCED GREATER BOSTON NEIGHBORHOODS. FOR THESE FAMILIES, STRONGER PARENT-CHILD RELATIONSHIPS ARE HELPING TO SET THEIR CHILDREN ON A PATH TO SUCCESS IN SCHOOL AND LIFE. BY PARTNERING WITH LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS, FAMILIES FIRST BRINGS PARENTS TOGETHER IN THEIR OWN COMMUNITITES. DURING A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM, PARENTS BUILD: -KNOWLEDGE OF CHILD DEVELOPEMENT-PARENTING SKILLS AND STRATEGIES-RESOURCES AND SUPPORT SYSTEMSRESEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS VITAL COMBINATION OF KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND SUPPORT IN EARLY CHILDHOOD STRENGTHENS THE PARENT-CHILD RELATIONSHIP AND MAKES FAMILIES LESS STRESSED AND MORE RESILIENT.
