AUTHOR, MUSIC AND POETRY EVENTS. THROUGHOUT THE CALENDAR YEAR, THE FRIENDS HELP SUPPORT LIBRARY PROGRAMMING FOR ALL LIBRARY PATRONS, INCLUDING GUEST SPEAKERS AND PERFORMERS. THIS BENEFITS ALL LIBRARY PATRONS BY PROMOTING ARTS AND CULTURAL EVENTS FREE OF CHARGE. APPROXIMATELY 5,000 PATRONS BENEFIT FROM THESE PROGRAMS.


PROVISION OF A COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP TO A HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE RESIDING IN MILLIS THAT INTENDS TO PURSUE LIBRARY SCIENCES OR HAS SUBSTANTIALLY CONTRIBUTED TO VOLUNTEER WORK AT THE MILLIS PUBLIC LIBRARY.


THE PURCHASE OF LIBRARY PASSES AND DISCOUNT PROGRAMS. THIS BENEFITS ALL LIBRARY PATRONS BY ALLOWING PATRONS TO USE THE PASS FOR ACCESS TO AREA MUSEUMS AND CULTURAL CENTERS. APPROXIMATELY 5,000 PATRONS USE THE PASSES ANNUALLY.


THE PURCHASE OF FURNITURE, FIXTURES AND SUPPLIES. THIS BENEFITS ALL LIBRARY PATRONS BY PURCHASING NEW OR REPLACING FURNITURE AND FIXTURES AND PROVIDING SUPPLIES FOR ONGOING USE BY PATRONS. APPROXIMATE 5,000 PATRONS BENEFIT FROM THESE PURCHASES.
