THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR HOMEOWNERSHIP TO ELIGIBLE FAMILIES IN THE CENTRAL BERKSHIRE COUNTY AREA, INCLUDING PITTSFIELD, DALTON, HANCOCK, LANESBOROUGH, LEE, LENOX, PERU, RICHMOND, AND WINDSOR MASSACHUSETTS. EACH HABITAT FAMILY HELPS REHABILITATE OR BUILD THEIR OWN HOME BY PROVIDING AT LEAST 400 HOURS OF SWEAT EQUITY. WHEN THE HOMES ARE COMPLETE, THE ORGANIZATION SELLS THEM TO THE FAMILIES FOR AN AFFORDABLE PRICE WHICH IS EQUAL TO OR LESS THAN THE FINAL ACCUMULATED DEVELOPMENT VALUE OF THE PROPERTIES AND ALSO PROVIDES THE FAMILIES WITH A NON-INTEREST BEARING MORTGAGE LOAN.
