THROUGH OUR MUSIC, THE BPO ASPIRES TO EXPAND THE HUMAN 'POSSIBILITY AND REDEFINE AND REINVIGORATE THE CLASSICAL MUSIC EXPERIENCE FOR AUDIENCES AND PLAYERS ALIKE. BOSTON PHILHARMONIC YOUTH ORCHESTRA (BPYO): WITH A MISSION OF SHAPING FUTURE LEADERS THROUGH MUSIC, THE TUITION-FREE BPYO PROVIDES A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY FOR ACCOMPLISHED YOUNG MUSICIANS (AGES 12-21) TO STUDY GREAT ORCHESTRAL REPERTOIRE IN A MUSICALLY DYNAMIC AND INTELLECTUALLY CHALLENGING COMMUNITY. IN ADDITION TO FREQUENT PERFORMANCES IN BOSTON'S SYMPHONY HALL AND SANDERS THEATRE, THE BPYO TOURS ANNUALLY AND HAS PERFORMED IN CARNEGIE HALL AND THROUGHOUT EUROPE AND SOUTH AMERICA. THERE WERE NO LIVE PERFORMANCES IN FY21 DUE TO COVID-19 BUT THE BPYO MET VIRTUALLY EVERY WEEK TO BROADEN THEIR MUSICAL AND SCORE-STUDYING SKILLS.

THE MEMBERS OF THE BPO ARE A UNIQUE BLEND OF PROFESSIONAL, STUDENT, AND AMATEUR MUSICIANS. THROUGH PROBING, INNOVATIVE PERFORMANCES OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY, CAREFULLY DESIGNED PROGRAMS, INFORMATIVE AND INTELLIGENT PROGRAM NOTES, AND PRE-CONCERT LECTURES THAT HEIGHTEN PARTICIPATION, THE BPO REACHES TO THE HEART OF GREAT MUSIC TO OFFER AN EXPANSIVE, ENRICHING EXPERIENCE FOR PLAYERS AND AUDIENCES ALIKE. THROUGHAN INNOVATIVE WEB PORTAL (THE BENJAMIN ZANDER CENTER), A RECORD LABEL(BRATTLE MEDIA), AND OTHER SPECIAL PROJECTS, THE MEDIA CENTER'S MISSIONIS TO BRING THE TRANSFORMATIVE POWER OF ZANDER'S TEACHINGS TO A GLOBALAUDIENCE.
CRESCENDO EDUCATION & COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM: THE BOSTON PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA (BPO) IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES AND TOOLS FOR THE LOCAL COMMUNITY TO LEARN ABOUT AND HELP CREATE A PERSONAL CONNECTION TO CLASSICAL MUSIC.
