ADOPTION: TO ESTABLISH PERMANENCY FOR CHILDREN TO ENABLE THEM TO GROW AND DEVELOP TO THEIR FULLEST POTENTIAL. TO MEET THIS GOAL, POTENTIAL ADOPTIVE FAMILIES ARE RECRUITED FOR CHILDREN WHOSE PARENT'S RIGHTS HAVE BEEN TERMINATED, PERMANENTLY COMMITTING THE CHILDREN TO THE DEPARTMENT. FOLLOWING ADOPTION PLACEMENT, THE AGENCY SUPERVISES THE CHILD'S ADOPTIVE PLACEMENT A MINIMUM OF 90 DAYS BEFORE THE ADOPTION CAN BE FINALIZED. POST PLACEMENT SUPERVISION IS NOT REQUIRED IF THE CHILD HAS RESIDED IN THE HOME IN FOSTER CARE STATUS FOR 90 OR MORE DAYS. MORE THAN 2,200 CLIENTS WERE SERVED IN THIS PROGRAM DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED 6/30/20.
CASE MANAGEMENT: INVOLVES THE IDENTIFICATION, LINKAGE, COORDINATION AND MONITORING OF ALL CHILD PROTECTION SERVICES FOR THE CHILD AND FAMILY. MANAGED CARE FOR 2754 KIDS WHO WERE IN AN OUT-OF-HOME PLACEMENT OR IN-HOME LIVING ARRANGEMENT DURING THE PERIOD AND HAD A PRIMARY ASSIGNMENT TO PFSF AT SOME POINT DURING THIS TIME.
OUT OF HOME CARE: CONSISTS OF PROTECTION SERVICES DELIVERED TO A CHILD WHO HAS BEEN PLACED OUTSIDE THE HOME OF THE BIOLOGICAL PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN. THIS INCLUDES EMERGENCY SHELTER, FOSTER CARE, RELATIVE, OR NON-RELATIVE PLACEMENT. THIS IS A SUBSET OF THE TOTAL NUMBER OF CLIENTS IN STATEMENT ONE ABOVE. SERVED APPROXIMATELY 925 YOUTH.
