THE CHARLOTTE LIBRARY IS IN THE MIDST OF A MULTI-YEAR CAPITAL CAMPAIGN TO FUND THE LIBRARY EXPANSION. AFTER A VOTE OF APPROVAL FROM THE TOWN OF CHARLOTTE TO FUND HALF OF THE PROJECT WITH A BOND, THE FRIENDS OF THE CHARLOTTE LIBRARY SUCCESSFULLY RAISED THE REMAINING FUNDS NEEDED. IN THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2020, THE FRIENDS OF THE CHARLOTTE LIBRARY SPENT $540,000 OF THE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN FUNDS RAISED ON BUILDING CONSTRUCTION AND RENOVATION.
THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED FUNDS FOR PROGRAMMING INCLUDING PURCHASING NEW BOOKS AND LIBRARY MATERIALS, WHICH SUPPLEMENT THE LIBRARY'S REGULAR BOOK BUDGET AND ALLOWS FOR MORE BREADTH IN THE LIBRARY'S COLLECTION.
