THE MISSION OF INTERFAITH CAREGIVERS OF WASHINGTON COUNTY IS TO "CONNECT SENIORS WITH CARING VOLUNTEERS." VOLUNTEERS LEND A CARING AND COMPASSIONATE "HELPING HAND" WITH ELDER ASSISTANCE AND TRANSPORTATION. OUR VISION IS THAT ALL OF WASHINGTON COUNTY'S MOST FRAIL AND ELDERLY CITIZENS WILL HAVE ACCESS TO RESOURCES NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN INDEPENDENCE.

HEALTHY AGING IN PLACE - SENIOR ASSISTANCE INTERFAITH FOCUSES ON REMOVING THE BARRIERS TO INDEPENDENCE FOR SENIORS BY PROVIDING VOLUNTEER ASSISTANCE WITH TASKS AROUND THE HOME THAT BECOME MORE DIFFICULT WITH AGE. GROUPS & INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEERS HELP WITH REQUESTS FOR SPRING/FALL YARD CLEAN-UP, SPRING/FALL HOUSECLEANING AND SMALL HOME REPAIR INSIDE/OUTSIDE. VOLUNTEERS ALSO OFFER COMPANIONSHIP AND CANINE CAREGIVERS - COMPANIONSHIP VISITS WITH A CERTIFIED THERAPY DOG. VOLUNTEERS ALSO PROVIDE KINDNESS CALLS - WELL CHECK CALLS MADE TO ISOLATED SENIORS TO CHECK ON HEALTH & WELL- BEING. VOLUNTEERS ALSO PROVIDE FOOD & ESSENTIAL DELIVERY FROM GROCERY STORES AND FOOD PANTRY, MEALS ON WHEELS AND STOCK BOX DELIVERY IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE FOOD PANTRY. IN 2023, 195 SENIORS WERE HELPED WITH 4,141 SERVICES PROVIDED AND 5,976 VOLUNTEER HOURS.


HEALTHY AGING IN PLACE - SENIOR TRANSPORTATION INTERFAITH FOCUSES ON REMOVING THE BARRIERS TO INDEPENDENCE FOR SENIORS BY PROVIDING VOLUNTEER TRANSPORTATION FOR THOSE WITH LIMITED MEANS AND MOBILITY. RIDES ARE PROVIDED IN ONE OF INTERFAITH'S FLEET OF ACCESSIBLE VEHICLES OR A VOLUNTEER'S PERSONAL VEHICLE. THESE RIDES ARE A CRITICAL LINK FOR OUR FRAIL ELDERLY TO ACCESS SERVICES FOR NECESSARY HEALTHCARE, NUTRITION, WELLNESS AND SOCIALIZATION. TRANSPORT IS PROVIDED TO LOCATIONS BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF WASHINGTON COUNTY. IN 2023, 543 SENIORS WERE HELPED WITH 19,928 RIDES TO CRITICAL SERVICES AND 11,496 VOLUNTEER DRIVER HOURS.


H.E.L.P. CORNER (HEALTH EQUIPMENT LENDING PROGRAM) - A DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT LOAN PROGRAM OPERATED BY INTERFAITH STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS. H.E.L.P. CORNER ENSURES THAT CITIZENS OF WASHINGTON COUNTY HAVE ACCESS TO NECESSARY MEDICAL EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING WHEELCHAIRS, WALKERS, KNEE SCOOTERS, SHOWER CHAIRS, RAMPS, BED RAILS, ETC. IN 2023, 1,254 INDIVIDUALS WERE SERVED AND 2,428 PIECES OF EQUIPMENT WERE LOANED. THE SERVICES WERE PROVIDED WITH 2,800 VOLUNTEER HOURS.
