FAIR WISCONSIN EDUCATION FUND ADVANCES OUR MISSION OF CREATING A FAIR, SAFE, AND INCLUSIVE WISCONSIN FOR ALL LESBIAN, GAY, BISEXUAL AND TRANSGENDER (LGBT) PEOPLE BY CONDUCTING GRASSROOTS ORGANIZING, BUILDING THE LEADERSHIP CAPACITY OF INDIVIDUAL LGBT AND ALLIED PEOPLE, ENGAGING IN NONPARTISAN CIVIC ENGAGEMENT EFFORTS DESIGNED TO INVOLVE LGBT AND ALLIED PEOPLE IN THE ELECTORAL PROCESS, CONDUCTING RESEARCH AND PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS TO EDUCATE THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND POLICY MAKERS ABOUT THE HARMS OF ANTI-LGBT DISCRIMINATION, AND PARTICIPATING IN LEGAL CHALLENGES INVOLVING LGBT CIVIL RIGHTS ISSUES. ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDE LAUNCHING THE WISCONSIN LGBTQ+ SUMMIT, AN ANNUAL PROGRAM THAT SEEKS TO BUILD A MORE SKILLED AND CONNECTED NETWORK OF LGBT AND ALLIED ACTIVISTS ADVANCING EQUALITY IN THEIR COMMUNITIES; SUCCESSFULLY DEFENDING THE STATEWIDE DOMESTIC PARTNERSHIP REGISTRY BEFORE THE WISCONSIN STATE SUPREME COURT; AND DEFENDING MARRIAGE EQUALITY.
