THE SOCIETY'S LIBRARY AND COLLECTION ITEMS PRESERVE & INTERPRET THE HISTORY OF GRANTHAM, NEW HAMPSHIRE. COLLECTION ITEMS INCLUDE HISTORICAL ARTIFACTS, LETTERS, PHOTOGRAPHS, MAPS, BOOKS, TOWN RECORDS, FAMILY HISTORIES AND GENEALOGICAL RECORDS. LIBRARY CONTENTS INCLUDE BOOKS, MAGAZINES, NEWSLETTERS, JOURNALS, TOWN REPORTS AND NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS DATING FROM 1900. IN ADDITION TO MAINTAINING THE COLLECTION, THE SOCIETY OFFERS INTERESTING AND DIVERSE HISTORICAL PROGRAMMING TO THE PUBLIC. DURING 2019, THE SOCIETY HOSTED A PRESENTATION ABOUT COLONIAL-ERA NEW ENGLAND MEETING HOUSES. THIS PRESENTATION FEATURED PHOTOGRAPHS AND HISTORICAL INFORMATION ABOUT A NUMBER OF NH STRUCTURES. ANOTHER PRESENTATION WAS GIVEN BY A LOCAL DARTMOUTH PROFESSOR ABOUT THE LEGEND OF DARBY FIELD AND HIS STORIED ASCENT OF MT. WASHINGTON. BOTH LOCAL RESIDENTS AND VISITORS ARE WELCOME AT THE SOCIETY WHICH IS OPEN 3 HOURS A WEEK AND FOR EXTRA HOURS DURING THE SUMMER. THE NEWSLETTER IS AVAILABLE ON THE SOCIETY'S WEBSITE AND PRINTED COPIES ARE ALSO DISTRIBUTED. VIDEO PRESENTATIONS, LECTURES AND PROGRAMS ARE ATTENDED BY MORE THAN 200 PEOPLE EACH YEAR.
