THE MSU DENVER ALUMNI ASSOCIATION IS A 501(C)(4) NON-PROFIT CORPORATIONESTABLISHED IN 1971 WITH THE ORIGINAL PURPOSE OF "CREATING AND MAINTAINING THE SPIRIT OF FELLOWSHIP AND GOOD WILL AMONG ALL OF THEALUMNI OF METRO STATE COLLEGE TO ENCOURAGE A BETTER INFORMED ALUMNIBODY TO PROMOTE THE SUBJECTS AND PROGRAMS OF THE ALUMNI ASSOCIATION ASA MEDIUM FOR BEST SERVING THE COLLEGE IN THE COMMUNITY." SINCE THEN, THE ASSOCIATION HAS REFINED ITS PURPOSE, STRUCTURE AND GOVERNANCE TO ACCOMPLISH A SINGLE STRATEGIC PURPOSE - TO CREATE BROAD AND MEANINGFUL OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALUMNI TO ENGAGE WITH EACH OTHER, THE UNIVERSITY AND THE LARGER DENVER COMMUNITY IN WAYS THAT SUPPORT THE STRATEGIC GOALS OF THE UNIVERSITY.THE ASSOCIATION HAS ENTERED INTO A NUMBER OF STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS THAT PROVIDE BOTH BENEFITS TO THE ALUMNI AS WELL AS FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO THE UNIVERSITY. MOST NOTABLY, THE ASSOCIATION IS PARTNERED WITH GEICO INSURANCE - A RELATIONSHIP THAT PROVIDES DISCOUNTED INSURANCE POLICIES TO MSU DENVER ALUMNI WHILE ALSO GENERATING ROUGHLY $35,000 ANNUALLY TO THE UNIVERSITY. SIMILARLY, IN 2018 THE ASSOCIATION ENTERED INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE COLORADO ROCKIES TO BE THE NON-PROFIT PARTNER TO CONDUCT A 50/50 RAFFLE AT ALL HOME GAMES.
