Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
PROMOTING THE DIGNITY AND SELF-ESTEEM OF WOMEN PARTICULARLY WOMEN IN TRANSITION OR CRISIS. OUTWARD APPEARANCE IS NOT AN ACCURATE REFLECTION OF YOUR WORTH, BUT IT CAN AFFIRM THE TREASURE THAT YOU TRULY ARE. TREASURE HOUSE FASHIONS IS THE "CLOSET" FOR AGENCIES SERVING WOMEN IN THE GREATER PITTBURGH AREA. THF IS ALSO OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, PROVIDING DEEPLY DISCOUNTED, NOTABLE BRAND NAME MERCHANDISE FOR ANY WOMEN'S BUDGET.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
TREAURE HOUSE FASHIONS IS A NONPROFIT WOMEN'S RESALE SHOP - THE "CLOSET" FOR OVER 60 AGENCIES IN THE GREATER PITTSBURGH AREA, BUT THE PUBLIC CAN SHOP THERE AS WELL, GENERATING OPERATING REVENUE AND SUPPORTING THE MISSION. 1) GIFT CERTIFICATES FOR CLOTHING AT OUR SHOP WERE DISTRIBUTED THROUGH LOCAL AGENCIES. DURING 2020, AGENCIES RECEIVING DIRECT SERVICE FROM TREASURE HOUSE FASHIONS REDUCED TO 27. IN 2021, THAT NUMBER INCREASED TO 33 AGENCIES THAT CAME TO THE SHOP TO REDEEM GIFT CERTIFICATES. IN 2021, EXPECTATIONS WERE HIGH - IT WAS HOPED THAT THE PANDEMIC WAS DONE AND BUSINESS COULD MOVE ON. INSTEAD, IT BROUGHT A NEW WAVE OF NEED AND WEARINESS. MANY SMALL BUSINESSES DID NOT SURVIVE THE PANDEMIC; OTHERS DOWNSIZED AND ELIMINATED JOBS. THOSE WHO HAD MINIMAL DISRUPTION FROM THE PANDEMIC GENEROUSLY UNDERWROTE "PAY IT FORWARD" GIFT CERTIFICATES THAT WERE DISTRIBUTED DIRECTLY THROUGH THE SHOP WHEN THOSE IN NEED SHOWED UP. 2) TREASURE HOUSE FASHIONS CONTINUED TO RECEIVE ABUNDANT CLOTHING AND PASSED ALONG THE GENEROSITY WITH 60% OFF (OR MORE IN SPECIAL SALES). THIS ADDED DISCOUNT ON QUALITY CLOTHING WAS A BOOST TO ANY BUDGET AND WAS DEEPLY APPRCIATED BY ALL WHO CONTINUED TO NAVIGAGE THESE ECOMOMICALLY CHALLENGING TIMES. 3) WITH CAUTIOUS ADAPTATIONS IN SAFETY AND HEALTH PARAMETERS, TREASURE HOUSE FASHIONS RESUMED GIRLS NIGHT OUT (GNO) EVENTS IN 2021. TREASURE HOUSE FASHIONS HOSTED 4 SOCIAL GNOS, GENERATING 1,413 AND HOSTED 9 SPONSORED GNOS WITH LOCAL BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS, SERVING 62 AGENCY WOMEN. 4) TREASURE HOUSE FASHIONS STRENTHENED RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER NONPROFITS AND EXPLORED NEW WAYS TO COLLABORATE, INCLUDING A SIP & SHOP CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT (SISTER'S PLACE), VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR CLIENTS OF GARDEN HOME MINISTRIES, AND A DAY OF CARING WITH KEY BANK EMPLOYEES.
