THE FOCUS OF THE ATLANTIC CHARITABLE FUND (ACF) CONTINUES TO BE SERVICE AND SUPPORT OF HOMELESS, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE NON-PROFIT ENTITIES. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH: (1) DIRECT GRANTS OF SUPPORT; (2) GROUP TRAINING OF HOMELESS AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SHELTER STAFF IN MAINE; (3) DIRECT CONSULTATION TO INDIVIDUAL NON-PROFITS ON IMPROVING THEIR OPERATION, POLICIES, EFFICIENCIES AND STAFF TRAINING; (4) SUPPORT OF RESEARCH EFFORTS ON HOMELESSNESS AND ITS CAUSES FOR THE BENEFIT OF AGENCIES THROUGHOUT MAINE; AND (5) PUBLICIZING THE FACTS OF HOMELESSNESS AND ADVOCATING FOR SOLUTIONS. THESE EFFORTS, WHILE THEY VARY FROM YEAR TO YEAR, HAVE PROVIDED VALUABLE AND OTHERWISE UNAVAILABLE ADVOCACY, ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT TO NUMEROUS NON-PROFIT AGENCIES AND THEIR PERSONNEL.
