THE BOOTHBAY HARBOR REGION CHAMBER OF COMMERCE PROMOTES NOT ONLY THE ENTIRE BOOTHBAY REGION BUT ALSO THE MIDCOAST AREA FROM WHICH MANY OF ITS MEMBERS DO BUSINESS. THE MAJORITY OF ITS MEMBERSHIP COMES FROM THE ROBUST TOURISM INDUSTRY OFFERED BY OUR REGION BUT ALSO SERVES TO PROMOTE THE MARINE INDUSTRY, A HOST OF NON-PROFITS AND THE BUSINESSES THAT ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE ENJOYED BY OUR COMMUNITY IN THE MIDCOAST REGION OF MAINE. WHILE IN-PERSON VISITS TO THE CHAMBER OFFICE WERE DOWN THIS YEAR DUE TO COVID-19 AND TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS, THE CHAMBER HAS FIELDED AND RESPONDED TO OVER 2,000 PHONE CALLS THROUGHOUT THE SEASON. OUR REGULAR CHAMBER OFFICES ENJOYED SERVING OVER 14,000 VISITORS LAST SEASON AND WE RECEIVED OVER 400,000 VIEWS ON OUR WEBSITE. THE CHAMBER DISTRIBUTED 12,000 COPIES OF THEIR ANNUAL REGIONAL GUIDE BETWEEN JUNE AND AUGUST. THE CHAMBER HAS JOINED WITH BOOTHBAY LIGHTS TO INTEGRATE IT BACK INTO THE CHAMBER AND MERGE IT WITH THE HARBOR LIGHTS. IT ALSO PARTNERED WITH THE TOWN OF BOOTHBAY HARBOR IN RECEIVING A GRANT TO ASSIST AND PROVIDE OUTREACH TO BUSINESSES AND ORGANIZATIONS IN TOWN RELATED TO COVID-19 RESOURCES AND EDUCATION. THE CHAMBER CONTINUES TO WORK WITH MUNICIPALITIES AND LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS TO HELP PROMOTE BUSINESS AND FOSTER ECONOMIC GROWTH.
