THE TAVERN HALL SOCIETY WAS ORGANIZED TO PRESERVE, PROMOTE AND MAINTAIN THE HISTORICAL ASSETS OF THE VILLAGE OF KINGSTON AND THE TOWN OF SOUTH KINGSTOWN.

THE ORGANIZATION (ERICD) PROVIDES INFORMATION AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO ENCOURAGE THE PEOPLE OF NEWPORT AND BRISTOL COUNTIES TO CONSERVE THEIR NATURAL RESOURCES AND GENERATE FARM VIABILITY.

MISSION:

GROUNDWORK RHODE ISLAND (GWRI) IS A COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATION HELPING BUILD HEALTHIER, MORE RESILIENT, AND MORE EQUITABLE URBAN COMMUNITIES IN RHODE ISLAND BY IMPROVING THE PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT AND CREATING ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES FOR LOCAL RESIDENTS THROUGH JOB TRAINING, EMPLOYMENT, AND SOCIAL VENTURE PROGRAMS.

TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT NATURAL, CULTURAL, AND HISTORICAL RESOURCES, WATERSHEDS, HABITATS, ECOSYSTEMS, AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES; WITHIN THE HISTORICAL LANDS OF THE POCASSET POKANOKET NATION; TO ENCOURAGE SOUND CONSERVATION PRACTICES; TO PRESERVE NATIVE LIFEWAYS AND ACCESS TO WATERS; TO ENGAGE IN AND EDUCATE AND TRAIN OTHERS ABOUT CONSERVATION, STEWARDSHIP AND MAINTENANCE OF OPEN LANDS, WETLANDS, WOODLANDS, AND ECOSYSTEMS; AND TO ENGAGE IN RELATED CONSERVATION, EDUCATIONAL, SCIENTIFIC AND CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES.

THE NEWPORT TREE CONSERVANCY IS DEDICATED TO FOSTERING A HEALTHY GROWING URBAN FOREST IN THE CITY OF NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND THOUGH A PERMANENT TREE MANAGEMENT AND PLANTING PROGRAM, FOR THE BENEFIT OF PRESENT AND FUTURE CITIZENS OF NEWPORT.

The goal of this organization is to preserve and protect endangered land resources from indiscriminate development, destruction or decay and which manage the utilization of renewable and nonrenewable resources to ensure ongoing availability. Included are conservation of the nations forests, rangeland, vegetation, deserts, wild and scenic rivers and other wilderness areas and open land spaces; and reestablishment of areas that have been devastated by destructive activities such as strip mining or other destructive activities.
