EARTHECHO ACADEMY (FORMERLY EARCHECHO EXPEDITION) IS A VIRTUAL LEARNING SPACE DEVELOPED TO PROVIDE ONLINE COURSES FOR TEACHER PROFESSIONAL LEARNING WITH ACCESS TO FULLY REMOTE, ASYNCHRONOUS ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION MODULES FOR STUDENTS FEATURING SOME OF OUR MOST POPULAR NGSS-ALIGNED CLASSROOM RESOURCES LIKE EARTHECHO EXPEDITION: WATER BY DESIGN. THROUGH THE EARTHECHO ACADEMY, TEACHERS GAIN ACCESS TO RESOURCES TO BROADEN STUDENT KNOWLEDGE ABOUT ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES AND JOIN THE GLOBAL COMMUNITY OF EDUCATORS USING EARTHECHO'S ONLINE RESOURCES TO INSPIRE EMPATHY AND ACTION IN THEIR STUDENTS. THE OURECHO CHALLENGE THE OURECHO CHALLENGE IS A MIDDLE SCHOOL SCIENCE COMPETITION DESIGNED TO ENGAGE TEAMS OF YOUNG PROBLEM SOLVERS IN STUDYING, RESPECTING, AND PROTECTING THE DIVERSITY OF SPECIES AND ECOSYSTEMS THAT MAKE LIFE ON EARTH POSSIBLE. GUIDED BY A TEACHER OR MENTOR, THE TEAMS ARE CHALLENGED TO ADDRESS THE DECLINE IN BIODIVERSITY BY IDENTIFYING THREATS TO NATURAL RESOURCES IN THEIR COMMUNITIES AND DEVELOPING INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS. THE TOP THREE WINNING TEAMS ARE AWARDED GRANTS TO TURN THEIR PROJECTS INTO A REALITY.
THE EARTHECHO WATER CHALLENGE - MARCH 22 (UNITED NATIONS WORLD WATER DAY) - DECEMBER 31EARTHECHO WATER CHALLENGE IS THE ONE OF THE WORLD'S LARGEST CIVIC SCIENCE PROGRAMS, EMPOWERING MORE THAN 1.6 MILLION YOUNG PEOPLE AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS IN 146 COUNTRIES TO CONNECT WITH AND PROTECT THEIR LOCAL WATERWAYS. PARTICIPANTS MONITOR WATER QUALITY IN THEIR COMMUNITIES, SHARE THEIR FINDINGS THROUGH A GLOBAL ONLINE DATABASE, AND USE THE DATA COLLECTED TO DEVELOP PROJECTS TO PROTECT WATER RESOURCES.
EARTHECHO'S YOUTH LEADERSHIP COUNCIL (YLC) AND THE YOUTH ACTION NETWORK IS THE GUIDING VOICE DRIVING THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF EARTHECHO'S GLOBAL PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO INSPIRE YOUNG PEOPLE WORLDWIDE TO CREATE A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE. YLC MEMBERS EXPAND THE REACH AND IMPACT OF EARTHECHO'S EDUCATION PROGRAMS THROUGH THE YOUTH ACTION NETWORK WHICH UNITES YOUNG ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERS CONNECTED TO EARTHECHO'S WORK AND MISSION.
