SCANPH'S MISSION IS TO FACILITATE AFFORDABLE HOUSING DEVELOPMENT ACROSS SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA BY ADVANCING EFFECTIVE PUBLIC POLICIES, SUSTAINABLE FINANCIAL RESOURCES AND STRONG MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF NON-PROFIT HOUSING, INC. (SCANPH) PROVIDES A RANGE OF SERVICES TO ITS APPROXIMATELY 250 ORGANIZATIONAL AND 1,500 INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS, INCLUDING CONTINUING EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND WORKSHOPS (26 IN 2023, WITH 6,600 ATTENDEES), E-PUBLISHING A MONTHLY NEWSLETTER, ENGAGING IN RESEARCH AND POLICY STUDIES REGARDING HOUSING PROGRAMS AND SERVICES, STAFFING NETWORK OPPORTUNITIES AND HOSTING AN ANNUAL HOUSING CONFERENCE, WHICH WAS LIVE IN 2023, WITH 1,330 ATTENDEES, 82 EXHIBITORS, 18 WORKSHOPS AND 2 KEYNOTES. SCANPH TRAINED OVER 50 ELECTED OFFICIALS ON AFFORDABLE HOUSING. SCANPH ALSO ENGAGES IN LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY AT ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT. WE CO-SPONSORED AND HELPED PASS STATE LEGISLATION AND TOOK POSITIONS ON 22 BILLS AND STATE BALLOT MEASURES. WE LAUNCHED OUR BILL TRACKER ON THE SCANPH WEBSITE. IN 2023, SCANPH'S CONSULTING DIVISION WORKED WITH LOCAL JURISDICTIONS TO MAKE IT EASIER TO BUILD AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND PROVIDED GRANT-WRITING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE. SCANPH STAFF CONTINUED THEIR EFFORTS OF INCORPORATING DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION INTO PROGRAMMING AND STAFF WORK. SOME EXAMPLES INCLUDE - PROGRAMMING ON INCLUSIVE HIRING PRACTICES (200 + ATTENDEES), IMPLEMENTING SUPPLIER DIVERSITY STRATEGIES (275+ ATTENDEES), AND CONTINUING THE SCANPH STAFF DEI BOOKCLUB.
