THE MISSION OF THE HOUSE OF YAHWEH IS TO SERVE THE ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED, ESPECIALLY WOMEN AND CHILDREN, SO THEY CAN ATTAIN GREATER FULLNESS OF LIFE. TO ACCOMPLISH THIS, HOY PROVIDES FOOD, CLOTHING, AND OTHER SUPPORTIVE SERVICES TO THOSE IN NEED, TO DIRECT AND GUIDE THEM ALONG A PATH TOWARD INDEPENDENCE. CHARITABLE PROGRAMS INCLUDE FOOD OUTREACH, CLOTHING OUTREACH, AND SOCIAL SERVICES.

THE FOOD OUTREACH PROGRAM: THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES GROCERIES FOR FAMILIES INCLUDING FRESH VEGETABLES, FRUIT, DAIRY PRODUCTS, BREAD, BAKERY ITEMS, MEAT, FISH, EGGS AND OTHER ESSENTIAL FOODS. FAMILIES RECEIVE BOXES AND BAGS OF FOOD ONCE EACH WEEK COMMENSURATE WITH THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN THEIR HOUSEHOLD. FOOD IS DISTRIBUTED SIX DAYS A WEEK - MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY. REVENUE ON LINE 12 INCLUDES $1.7 MILLION OF GIFTS IN KIND FOR FOOD OUTREACH. OVER 10,000 FOOD BOXES AND OVER 22,000 FOOD BAGS ARE GIVEN TO - 56,700 CLIENTS.
CLOTHING OUTREACH PROGRAM: CLOTHING AND HOUSEHOLD ITEMS DONATED TO HOY ARE RESOLD IN ITS THRIFT STORE IN LAWNDALE CALIFORNIA. PROCEEEDS FROM THESE SALES ARE USED TO SUPPORT THE ORGANIZATION'S EXEMPT PURPOSE. HOY'S THRIFT STORE IS THE ENGINE THAT POWERS SERVERAL OUTREACH PROGRAMS - CLOTHING FOR THE POOR, WELCOME HOME KITS FOR HOMELESS FAMILIES WHO ARE TRANSITIONING TO PERMANMENT HOMES, AND DISASTER RECOVERY KITS FOR THOSE AFFECTED BY WILDFIRES AND OTHER EXTREME SUTUATIONS.ONLINE STORE: CERTAIN HIGHER-VALUED CLOTHING AND HOUSEHOLD ITEMS DONATE TO HOY ARE RESOLD ONLINE THROUGH EBAY TO ENHANCE THE PROCEEDS RECEIVED.
