POWAY FEDERATION OF TEACHERS SERVES AS A COLLECTIVE VOICE IN PUBLIC EDUCATION WITHIN THE POWAY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF TEACHING, PROMOTE DEMOCRATIC DYNAMICS, FAIRNESS, AND DUE PROCESS, EXPAND THE SCOPE OF COLLECTIVE BARGANING TO INCLUDE INSTRUCTIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL ISSUES, AND IMPROVE THE WAY CHILDREN LEARN.

WORKED CLOSELY WITH THE STATE FEDERATION TO CHANGE THE STATE BUDGET TO FAVOR EDUCATION. SECURED A NEGOTIATED AGREEMENT WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT WHICH MINIMIZED JOB LOSS AND KEPT CLASS SIZE FROM INCREASING DRAMATICALLY. CONTINUED OUR OUTREACH WITH PARENT COMMUNITY VIA PTSA LIASON. DEVELOPED WEBSITE WHEREBY PARENTS COULD DONATE TO THEIR CHILDS CLASS ONLINE.
