KARE YOUTH LEAGUE ENCOURAGES CHARACTER VALUES LIKE FAITHFULNESS, RESPONSIBILITY, RESPECT AND TEAMWORK IN APPROXIMATELY 1,200 CHILDREN GRADES K-12 THROUGH AGE AND ABILITY ORIENTED TEAM SPORTS. MEMBERS ATTEND CLUB-MEETINGS, PRACTICES AND GAMES AT KARE FACILITIES IN ARCADIA, IRWINDALE, COVINA AND UPLAND, CALIFORNIA UP TO FOUR TIMES PER WEEK. EACH TEAM IS GUIDED BY A TRAINED LEADER TO CREATE A POSITIVE TEAM ATMOSPHERE WHERE EACH MEMBER IS ENCOURAGED TO MAKE GOOD CHOICES IN LIFE. MEMBERS WITH THEIR TEAMS AND LEADERS ALSO ATTEND CAMPS AND TAKE FIELD TRIPS TOGETHER. ADDITIONALLY, KARE RENTS ITS FACILITIES TO OTHER ORGANIZATIONS THAT PROMOTE RECREATION AND CHARACTER VALUES.
KARE YOUTH LEAGUE OPERATES TWO PRIVATE COLLEGE PREP SCHOOLS FOR ITS MEMBERS. PEARL PREP IS FOR GRADES K-6 WITH APPROXIMATELY 159 STUDENTS ENROLLED. RIO HONDO PREP IS FOR GRADES 7-12 WITH APPROXIMATELY 142 STUDENTS ENROLLED. RIO HONDO PREP AND PEARL PREP ARE ACCREDITED BY WESTERN ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES.
KARE YOUTH LEAGUE OWNS AND OPERATES A CAMPING FACILITY UNDER THE NAME MOUNT KARE. THE CAMP IS LOCATED IN THE ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST JUST ABOVE WRIGHTWOOD, CA. IT SERVES THE SCHOOLS AND CLUB, AS WELL AS OTHER SIMILAR GROUPS, BOTH SUMMER AND WINTER. THIS FACILITY IS ACCREDITED BY THE AMERICAN CAMP ASSOCATION.
