FAITHFUL TO THE CHARISM OF THE DAUGHTERS OF CHARITY OF ST. VINCENT DE PAUL, WE SERVE OUR SISTERS AND BROTHERS BY PROVIDING AFFORDABLE HOUSING, EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION, AND FAMILY ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES.

SAN VICENTE MOBILE HOME PARK: IN JULY OF 1977, FESS E. PARKER AND ROB RICE AS LESSEES AND ST. VINCENT'S AS LESSOR ENTERED INTO A 40 YEAR LONG-TERM LAND LEASE. AS PART OF THE LONG TERM LEASE, THE LAND WAS CONVERTED INTO 270 SPACES FOR MOBILE HOMES AND WAS DESIGNATED AS A MOBILE HOME PARK FOR SENIORS 55 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER. ON JULY 19, 2017, ST. VINCENT'S TRANSFERRED THE UNDERLYING LAND OF SAN VICENTE MOBILE HOME PARK TO VINCENT'S MINISTRIES, LLC AND EXECUTED THE ASSIGNMENT AND ASSUMPTION OF THE 40 YEAR LONG TERM LEASE BY ASSIGNING THE RIGHTS, TITLE, AND INTEREST IN, TO AND UNDER THE LEASE TO VINCENT'S MINISTRIES, LLC. ON JULY 29, 2017, THE SAN VICENTE MOBILE HOME PARK 40 YEAR LONG TERM LEASE TERMINATED AND THE SAN VICENTE MOBILE HOME PARK REVERTED TO VINCENT'S MINISTRIES, LLC.SAN VICENTE MOBILE HOME PARK IS LOCATED ON 41 ACRES AT 340 OLD MILL ROAD IN SANTA BARBARA, CALIFORNIA. THE MOBILE HOME PARK IS REGULATED UNDER THE CALIFORNIA MOBILE HOME RESIDENCY LAW, TITLE 25 OF THE CALIFORNIA CODE OF REGULATIONS, AS WELL AS SANTA BARBARA COUNTY'S RENT CONTROL ORDINANCE. THE MOBILE HOME PARK IS CONSIDERED A FORM OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN SANTA BARBARA COUNTY AND TODAY, SAN VICENTE MOBILE HOME PARK IS HOME TO 413 SENIORS.
ST. VINCENT'S EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION (ECEC) IS A CATHOLIC CHILDCARE AND EARLY LEARNING CENTER FOR CHILDREN AGES 6 WEEKS TO 6 YEARS WITH A LICENSED CAPACITY OF UP TO 98 CHILDREN. MAXIMUM CAPACITY WAS LIMITED TO 60 CHILDREN DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. ST. VINCENT'S ECEC PROVIDES AN EXCELLENT LEARNING ENVIRONMENT AND OPERATES THREE SEPARATE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS FOR INFANTS, TODDLERS AND PRESCHOOLERS. THE CHILDREN BENEFIT FROM A HIGH QUALITY FOOD AND NUTRITION PROGRAM WHERE EACH CHILD IS PROVIDED TWO MEALS AND SNACKS DAILY. THE OUTDOOR CLASSROOM IS A VITAL COMPONENT OF THE PROGRAM ALLOWING FOR EDUCATION, PLAY AND EXERCISING IN A SAFE, FRESH AIR ENVIRONMENT.FOR THE YEAR ENDED, 40 CLIENTS WERE SERVED FOR 248 DAYS.
CAMPUS AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROGRAM - DURING THE DEVELOPMENT STAGES OF TWO MAJOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROGRAMS ON CAMPUS, ST. VINCENT'S WAS A CO-CORPORATE MEMBER AND CO-SPONSOR WITH MERCY HOUSING, INC. IN 2008, ST. VINCENT'S GARDENS, OFFERING 75 TWO, THREE, AND FOUR BEDROOM APARTMENTS, OPENED FOR FAMILIES IN NEED OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING. IN THE SAME YEAR, ST. VINCENT'S WAS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE OPENING OF VILLA CARIDAD, A HUD 202 PRAC SENIOR PROPERTY, PROVIDING 95 ONE-BEDROOM APARTMENTS FOR LOW-INCOME SENIORS ON ITS PROPERTY. MANY OF THESE SENIORS HAD BEEN LIVING IN THEIR AUTOMOBILES, ON THE STREET, OR IN SHELTERS BEFORE THE OPENING OF THESE APARTMENTS. ON JANUARY 1, 2014, ST. VINCENT'S BECAME THE SOLE CORPORATE MEMBER AND MANAGING AGENT OF VILLA CARIDAD AND ON MARCH 11, 2014 ST. VINCENT'S BECAME THE GENERAL PARTNER OF ST. VINCENT'S GARDENS.FOR THE YEAR ENDED, 362 CLIENTS WERE SERVED FOR 365 DAYS.
