SECTIONSSECTIONS SUPPORT SUBSTANTIVE LAW-RELATED EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES. SECTION MEMBERS ARE LACBA MEMBERS WHO PAY DUES TO AND BELONG TO THE INDIVIDUAL SECTIONS AS WELL AS TO LACBA.


LAWYER REFERRAL AND INFORMATION SERVICETHE LAWYER REFERRAL AND INFORMATION SERVICE IS SUPPORTED BY FEES PAID BY LAWYERS PARTICIPATING IN THE SERVICE. THE SERVICE PROVIDES LEGAL INFORMATION AND ADVICE TO THE PUBLIC AND REFERS CLIENTS TO LAWYERS BASED UPON CLIENT'S NEEDS.


INDIGENT CRIMINAL DEFENSE APPOINTMENTSTHE INDIGENT CRIMINAL DEFENSE APPOINTMENTS PANELS PROVIDES PRIVATE ATTORNEYS FOR THOSE CRIMINAL CASES WHICH THE PUBLIC DEFENDER'S OFFICE AND THE ALTERNATE PUBLIC DEFENDER'S OFFICE IS UNABLE TO ACCEPT. ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEES ARE PAID BY THE ATTORNEYS ELECTING TO PARTICIPATE ON THE PANELS.


INDEPENDENT JUVENILE DEFENDERTHE INDEPENDENT JUVENILE DEFENDER PROGRAM PROVIDES OVERSIGHT AND ANCILLARY SERVICES TO PRIVATE CRIMINAL DEFENSE ATTORNEYS WHO REPRESENT MINORS WHO PRESENT A CONFLIT OF INTEREST TO THE PUBLIC DEFENDER AND ALTERNATE PUBLIC DEFENDER.
