CONTRA COSTA COLLEGE FOUNDATION (CCCF) HAS BEEN WORKING SINCE 1967 TO INCREASE FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR OUR STUDENTS. THE FOUNDATION'S WRAP-AROUND FUND SUPPORTS STUDENT SUCCESS AND REAL STUDENT NEEDS. GIFTS MADE TO THIS FUND HELPS WITH STUDENT RETENTION AND NEEDS SUCH AS MENTORING, CLINICAL SERVICES OR TUTORING, BOOKS, RENT, TRANSPORTATION OR CHILDCARE. THE MOST PROMINENT NEEDS OF CCC STUDENTS INCLUDE TECHNICAL NEEDS, HOMELESSNESS, HUNGER, TRANSPORTATION, CHILDCARE AND INABILITY TO PURCHASE TEXTBOOKS. STUDENTS APPLY FOR THESE FUNDS THROUGH AN EMERGENCY FUND APPLICATION, AND ARE REQUIRED TO BE ENROLLED AT CCC (A MINIMUM OF SIX UNITS), BE IN GOOD STANDING (NON-PROBATIONARY STUDENT), AND TO WRITE A BRIEF NARRATIVE ABOUT THEIR REASON FOR APPLYING (WHAT NEEDS ARE UNMET). SUPPORT WITH TUITION: MORE THAN $205,000 WAS AVAILABLE VIA SCHOLARSHIPS EXCLUSIVELY FOR CONTRA COSTA COLLEGE STUDENTS FOR OUR LAST ACADEMIC YEAR. FINANCIAL SCHOLARSHIPS ALLOW STUDENTS TO CONCENTRATE ON COLLEGE STUDIES AND PARTICIPATE IN EXTRACURRICULAR CAMPUS ACTIVITIES, CREATING A WELL-ROUNDED AND SUCCESSFUL GRADUATE.
