TO ASSIST THE MARY L. STEPHENS BRANCH OF THE YOLO COUNTY LIBRARY IN EFFORTS TO RAISE FUNDS, PLAN FOR FACILITIES EXPANSION, DEVELOP THE LIBRARY BOOK COLLECTION, ENCOURAGE READING PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN AND TO PROMOTE THE LIBRARY AS A CULTURAL CENTER OF THE CITY OF DAVIS.

FRIENDS PROVIDES GENERAL SUPPORT FOR LIBRARY PROGRAMS SUCH AS VISITING ARTISTS, SPEAKERS AND OTHERS WHO PRESENT PROGRAMS FOR LEARNING AND ENJOYMENT OF ALL LIBRARY PATRONS. OUR SUPPORT PAID FOR THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM REWARDS AND CERTIFICATES TO KEEP SCHOOL CHILDREN READING IN THE SUMMER,FRIENDS PROVIDES MULTIPLE COPIES OF BOOKS FOR USE IN LOCAL READING GROUPS AND SUPPLEMENTED THE LIBRARY'S PURCHASE OF BOOKS IN BOTH TRADITIONAL AND ELECTRONIC FORMATS, MOVIE LICENSES, CD'S AND DVD'S. FOR 2021 - 2022 FISCAL YEAR, THE ORGANIZATION DONATED $96,596 TO FUND LIBRARY PROGRAMS.
LOGOS BOOKSTORE - THE STORE OPERATES SIX DAYS A WEEK AND IS FULLY STAFFED BY VOLUNTEERS. ITS SHELVES ARE FILLED WITH DONATED BOOKS, ALL SORTED, ARRANGED, AND SOLD BY VOLUNTEERS. THE BOOKSTORE PROCEEDS HELP US TO FURTHER SUPPORT THE LIBRARY, BUT ALSO FILLS AN IMPORTANT POSITION IN THE COMMUNITY. THE STORE ENCOURAGES READING BY MAKING BOOKS AVAILABLE AT VERY LOW PRICES AND PROMOTES THE VARIOUS PROGRAMS AND EVENTS PROVIDED BY THE LIBRARY.
