AT THE PRESS OF THE MEDICAL ALERT BUTTON, THE LIFELINE 24-HOUR EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM IS ACTIVATED. LIFELINE SAVES LIVES IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, REDUCES SUFFERING AND FEAR, AND PROVIDES FOR EARLY INTERVENTION IN THE EVENT OF A FALL OR OTHER EMERGENCY. THE SERVICE LEAGUE RECOGNIZES THEIR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY TO ADDRESS THE NEEDS OF AT-RISK ELDERLY AND DISABLED MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY, INCLUDING THOSE WITH LIMITED FINANCIAL RESOURCES, SO THEY OFFER A FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES THE SERVICE AT A REDUCED FEE FOR QUALIFIED APPLICANTS. CURRENTLY, APPROXIMATELY 65 OF THEIR APPROXIMATELY 350 CLIENTS BENEFIT FROM THIS PROGRAM/
TO SUPPORT THE SALINAS VALLEY MEMORIAL HEALTHCARE SYSTEM WITH EXPANSION AND IMPROVEMENT OF FACILITIES AND SERVICES SUCH AS MOBILE HEALTH CLINIC AND OTHER SVMH FOUNDATION PROGRAMS INCLUDING CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK. TO PROVIDE RESOURCES SUCH AS PATIENT EXPERIENCE CART SUPPLIES, TELECARE SERVICE,AND OUTREACH PROGRAMS FOR STUDENTS INCLUDING HOSPITAL AND MUSEUM TOURS, SUMMER HEALTH INSTITUTE, MEDICAL ADVENTURE CAMP, AND HEALTH EXPLORERS, AS WELL AS SCHOLARSHIPS TO INDIVIDUALS PURSUING DEGREES AND CERTIFICATIONS TO SUPPORT CAREERS TO BENEFIT THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM.
THE SERVICE LEAGUE GIFT SHOP IS NOT ONLY A SOURCE OF INCOME TO SUPPORT THEIR PROJECTS, BUT IT IS AN IMPORTANT SERVICE FOR THE HOSPITAL'S VISITORS AND STAFF. THEY CURRENTLY CONTRACT WITH LORI'S GIFTS TO PROVIDE THIS VALUABLE SERVICE.
