UCD SVM SCAVMA - SCAVMA IS AN UMBRELLA ORGANIZATION THAT FUNDS ALL OF OUR STUDENT CLUBS ON CAMPUS FOR THE PURPOSE OF REACHING OUT TO ALL STUDENTS AND PROMOTING UNITY. CLUB ACTIVITIES, SUCH AS WETLABS AND FIELD TRIPS ALLOW STUDENTS TO DEVELOP CLINICAL SKILLS AND FURTHER THEIR INTERESTS IN THE VETERINARY FIELD. ONE OF SCAVMA'S GREATEST EXPENSES IS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FUNDING FOR STUDENTS TO PURSUE EXTERNSHIPS OR ANY ACTIVITY THAT ALLOWS THEM TO EXPAND THEIR VETERINARY EDUCATION BEYOND THE CLASSROOM.IN 2018/2019 63 STUDENTS WERE FUNDED FOR VARIOUS ACTIVITIES. SCAVMA SUPPORTS STUDENTS THROUGH CLASS ACTIVITIES AS WELL BY PROVIDING START UP FUNDS FOR CERTAIN EVENTS IN EACH CLASS. SCAVMA ALSO STRIVES TO UNIFY STUDENTS AND FACULTY THROUGH EVENTS $9,110 AND SCHOLARSHIPS $3,000.
