THE MAIN PROGRAM SERVICE IS TO RESCUE WEIMARANERS AND WEIMARANER MIXES FROM SHELTERS AND OWNER SURRENDERS PRIMARILY IN ARKANSAS. HOWEVER, BECAUSE OF OUR VOLUNTEERS, WE ARE ALSO ABLE TO ASSIST OTHER GROUPS IN TENNESSEE, LOUISIANA, MISSISSIPPI, MISSOURI AND TEXAS BY TAKING DOGS FROM THOSE STATES. ALL DOGS IN OUR CARE ARE FULLY VACCINATED, SPAYED/NEUTERED, MICRO CHIPPED AND SOCIALIZED BEFORE BEING PLACED IN NEW HOMES. MANY OF THE DOGS WE TAKE IN ARE HEART WORM POSITIVE. WE TREATED 7 DOGS IN 2021 WE ALSO PROIVDE PRIVATE TRAINING FOR THE DOGS THAT NEED EXTRA REHABILITATION. AWR PUTS ALL OF OUR DOGS ON HEART WORM PREVENTION AND SEND A 2 MONTH SUPPLY WITH NEW ADOPTERS. WE ARE VERY FORTUNATE TO HAVE THE MAJORITY OF OUR BOARDING EXPENSES DONATED. THE DOGS WE TAKE IN ARE TREATED WITH THE SAME CARE WE WOULD TREAT OUR OWN DOGS. IN 2021, WE TOOK IN 67 DOGS AND 25 PUPPIES. THERE WERE 12 DOGS AND 10 PUPPIES TRANSFERRED IN, 4 DOGS AND 1 PUPPY TRANSFERRED OUT; 12 DOGS AND 1 PUPPY RETURNED, 89 DOGS AND 35 PUPPIES WERE ADOPTED, AND ONE DOG WAS EUTHANIZED. THERE WERE 44 DOGS AND 24 PUPPIES MICROCHIPPED,AND 79 DOGS AND 35 PUPPIES VACCINATED.A TOTAL OF 49 DOGS AND 12 PUPPIES WERE MICROCHIPPED, AND A TOTAL OF 73 DOGS AND 14 PUPPIES WERE VACCINATED.
