THE ORGANIZATION, VALLEY HOUSING COALITION, INC. AKA VALLEY HOUSE, OPERATES A SHELTER FOR HOMELESS FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS. THE SHELTER IS UNIQUE BECAUSE VOLUNTEERS AND A PAID DIRECTOR MENTOR AND ADVISE HOMELESS PERSONS BY OFFERING THEM "A HAND UP INSTEAD OF A HAND-OUT." VALLEY HOUSE HELPS FIND WORK AND SERVICES IN THE COMMUNITY FOR PEOPLE WHO, BECAUSE OF CIRCUMSTANCES, ARE WITHOUT A JOB AND WITHOUT A PLACE TO LIVE. WHILE STAYING AT VALLEY HOUSE THESE INDIVIDUALS HAVE A CHANCE TO HONE THEIR JOB AND PARENTING SKILLS. ALSO, AFTER THEY FIND A .. JOB, THEY SAVE UP A DEPOSIT IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO MOVE INTO THEIR OWN HOME OR APARTMENT. VALLEY HOUSE DOES NOT RECEIVE FEDERAL OR STATE AID.
