THE ORGANIZATION, VALLEY HOUSING COALITION, INC. AKA VALLEY HOUSE, OPERATES SHELTER FOR THE HOMELESS FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS. THE SHELTER IS UNIQUE BECAUSE VOLUNTEERS AND A PAID DIRECTOR MENTOR AND ADVISE HOMELESS PERSONS BY OFFERING THEM "A HAND UP INSTEAD OF A HAND-OUT." VALLEY HOUSE HELPS FIND WORK AND SERVICES IN THE COMMUNITY FOR PEOPLE WHO, BECAUSE OF CIRCUMSTANCES, ARE WITHOUT A JOB AND WITHOUT A PLACE TO LIVE. WHILE STAYING AT VALLEY HOUSE THESE INDIVIDUALS HAVE A CHANCE TO HONE THEIR JOB AND PARENTING SKILLS. ALSO, AFTER THEY FIND A JOB, THEY SAVE UP A DEPOSIT IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO MOVE INTO THEIR OWN HOME OR APARTMENT. VALLEY HOUSE DOES NOT RECEIVE FEDERAL OR STATE AID. ALL REVENUES ARE FROM COMMUNITY CHURCHES, INDIVIDUALS AND BUSINESSES.

DURING 2022, VALLEY HOUSE BEGAN A JOINT PROJECT WITH THE HOMELESS COALITION AND THE TAPROOT CHURCH TO OPERATE A WARMING CENTER DURING THE LATE FALL AND WINTER MONTHS.
