THE MISSION OF THE KOREAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY CENTER OF SAN FRANCISCO AND BAY AREA (KACCSF) IS TO BUILD COMMUNITY AND ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THE KOREAN AMERICAN RESIDENTS IN THE SAN FRANCISCO AND BAY AREA. WE ARE A PLACE-BASED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION SERVING PRIMARILY THE SAN FRANCISCO NEIGHBORHOOD, AND ALSO SERVE THE BAY AREA. WE ARE A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION WITH MANY ROLES - AS NEIGHBORHOOD ADVOCATES FOR KOREAN AMERICANS, ORGANIZERS AND PLANNERS OF VARIOUS KOREAN AMERICAN HERITAGE CELEBRATIONS, AND AS EDUCATION CENTER FOR KOREAN AMERICAN CULTURES INCLUDING THE KOREAN LANGUAGE AND THE VARIOUS KOREAN ARTS. KOREAN AMERICAN COMMUNITY OF SAN FRANCISCO & BAY AREA ASSISTS ALL KOREAN AMERICANS IN SAN FRANCISCO AND THE BAY AREA AND PROMOTES THE CULTURAL, SOCIAL, EDUCATIONAL, AND ECONOMIC PROGRESS OF KOREAN-AMERICAN. THE ORGANIZATION BUILDS AN ALTERNATIVE COMMUNITY WHERE KOREAN AMERICANS CAN BRIDGE THE CULTURAL GAP BETWEEN KOREAN AMERICANS AND OTHER ETHNIC COMMUN

KAACSF(KACCSF) HAS ORGANIZED AND HELD THE ANNUAL KOREAN DAY FESTIVAL SINCE 1992. THESE PROGRAMS AND EVENTS RE-EXAMINE THE KOREAN EXPERIENCE AND RE-EVALUATE THE PLACEMENT OF KOREAN AMERICANS IN THE SOCIETY. IN 1989, THE KAACSF(KACCSF) MOVED TO ITS CURRENT ADDRESS ON BUCHANAN STREET, IN THE WESTERN ADDITION DISTRICT. THIS LOCATION ALLOWS THE ASSOCIATION TO COMMUNICATE WITH MORE DIVERSE POPULATIONS IN THE FILLMORE NEIGHBORHOOD. THE MISSION IS TO SUPPORT AND CULTIVATE THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF KOREAN AMERICANS BY WORKSHOPS, EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, AND EVENTS BY THE COMMUNITY. THE COMMUNITY CENTER HAS PROVIDED VARIOUS SERVICES AND CLASSES TO MORE THAN 150,000 KOREAN AMERICANS AT NO COST. WE HAVE PROVIDED THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS:1. PUBLIC SAFETY MEETINGS WITH HAYES VALLEY NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION2. LIBRARY PROGRAM & SEMINARS 3. KOREAN DANCE & MUSIC, MARTIAL ARTS, COMPUTER CLASSES4. EMEGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE, SENIOR, SOCIAL SERVICES & JOB FAIR PROGRAM5. PROMOTING KOREAN CONCERTS AND CULTURAL EVENTS
