THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF SACRAMENTO IS DEDICATED TO PROVIDING LEADERSHIP TRAINING BOTH THROUGH PRACTICAL APPLICATION BY PARTICIPATION IN RUNNING THE ORGANIZATION AND WITH FORMAL TRAINING PROGRAMS THAT INCLUDE ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, BUSINESS MANAGEMENT, DIVERSITY, BUDGETING AND PLANNING, AND VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT. IN ADDITION, SUSTAINER EVENTS PROVIDE THE OPPORTUNITY THROUGHOUT THE YEAR TO BUILD UPON LONG STANDING TRADITIONS WHILE HAVING FUN WITH PAST AND PRESENT MEMBERS.
THE JLS ENRICHMENT GRANT ENABLES THE LEAGUE TO ADDRESS COMMUNITY NEEDS THAT HAVE SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON THE SACRAMENTO AREA COMMUNITY AND ALIGN TO THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF SACRAMENTO'S MISSION, VISION AND FOCUS. COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS AND PROJECTS THAT ADDRESSED A CRITICAL HUMAN NEED WERE ESPECIALLY ENCOURAGED IN THE APPLICATION PROCESS. GRANTS WERE EXTENDED TO SACRAMENTO CASA, GIRLS ON THE RUN OF GREATER SACRAMENTO, ASUCD - UC DAVIS MENTAL HEALTH INITIATIVE, GIRLS UNITED, AND POWERHOUSE SCIENCE CENTER.
THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF SACRAMENTO EMPOWERS GIRLS TO BE CONFIDENT LEADERS THROUGH PROGRAMMING CENTERED ON SELFESTEEM, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, AND EDUCATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT. WE DO THIS THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS WITH ORGANIZATIONS INCLUDING: SACRAMENTO CASA, GIRL SCOUTS HEART OF CENTRAL CALIFORNIA, POWERHOUSE SCIENCE CENTER, AND MORE. THE JUNIOR LEAGUE OF SACRAMENTO LAUNCHED A NEW COMMUNITY EVENT BRANDED GET STRONG WHICH IS PROGRAM GEARED TO PROVIDING MENTORSHIP AT TITLE 9 SCHOOLS TO ELEMENTARYSCHOOL AGED GIRLS.
