THE VALLEY WOMEN'S CLUB (VWC) OF THE SAN LORENZO VALLEY IS DEDICATED TO COMMUNITY ACTION, AWARENESS, AND LEADERSHIP IN ENVIRONMENTAL, EDUCATIONAL, SOCIAL, AND POLITICAL CONCERNS THAT AFFECT THE HEALTH AND WELFARE OF THE SAN LORENZO VALLEY AND OUR COMMUNITY. THE VWC SPONSORS A WIDE RANGE OF SPECIAL EVENTS RELATING TO ITS MISSION, INCLUDING CANDIDATE'S FORUMS, ENVIRONMENTAL TOWN HALLS, WORKSHOPS, AND FORUMS ADDRESSING ISSUES SUCH AS EROSION, POLLUTION, WATERSHED, FIRE MITIGATION, DEBRIS-FLOW; THE RIVERS, STREAMS, AND THE ESTUARY. THE WOMEN'S SOLUTION'S COMMITTEE ADDRESSES ISSUES DIRECTLY AFFECTING WOMEN SUCH AS STATE AND FEDERAL LEGISLATION, EDUCATION, HEALTH AND SAFETY, RESPITE CARE. THE VWC ALSO SPONSORS SPECIAL EVENTS SUCH AS THE REDWOOD MOUNTAIN FAIR, CELEBRATING COMMUNITY, SHOWCASING MUSIC AND THE ARTS. THE RIVER AND ROAD CLEAN-UP, IN CONJUNCTION WITH SAVE OUR SHORES, REDUCES POLLUTION IN THE SAN LORENZO VALLEY'S WATERWAYS TO PREVENT POLLUTION FROM WASHING INTO THE MONTEREY BAY. THE ANNUAL RECYCLE TO ART CONTEST INVITES ALL AGES TO PARTICIPATE IN UNIQUE AND INSPIRED WAYS TO RECYCLE OTHERWISE WASTED INTO ART. THE NATIVE HABITAT COMMITTEE SPONSORS EDUCATION TO RE-ESTABLISH NATIVE HABITAT, REFORESTATION, POLLINATOR GARDENS ROUTES THROUGHOUT THE VALLEY. THE VWC IS MANAGED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND ALL ACTIVITIES ARE FUNDED BY DONATIONS AND MEMBERSHIP. A QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER, WEBSITE, AND EMAILS KEEP OUR MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF VWC INFORMED.
