ASSOCIATION ACTIVITIES COMMITTEES: MEMBERS CAN MEET THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES TO THE MEDICAL PROFESSION AND THE COMMUNITY BY PARTICIPATING IN COMMITTEES APPOINTED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS, THE ASSOCIATION MAKES IT POSSIBLE FOR PHYSICIANS TO BE EFFECTIVELY INVOLVED IN INFLUENCING PUBLIC POLICY DECISIONS THAT AFFECT HOW HEALTH CARE IS ADMINISTERED AND REGULATED IN CALIFORNIA.
COMMUNITY RELATIONS PYSICIAN INFORMATION: THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDES INFORMATION ABOUT MEMBERS SPECIALTY, CONTACT INFORMATION, MEDICAL SCHOOL, YEAR OF GRADUATION, BOARD CERTIFICATIONS AND PHYSICIAN COMPLAINTS. THE ASSOCIATION HANDLES COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE QUALITY OR EFFICACY OF MEDICAL SERVICES PERFORMED BY MEMBERS BY ATTEMPTING TO RESOLVE QUESTIONS AND DISPUTES THROUGH MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING AND EDUCATION. THE ASSOCIATION WORKS WITH MEDIA REPRESENTATIVES AND LOCAL PHYSICIANS TO COMMUNICATE MEDICAL MEDICAL INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC AND SPEKER'S BUREAU AND ARRANGE FOR PHYSICIAN MEMBERS TO SPEAK ON MEDICAL TOPICS TO COMMUNITY GROUPS AND SCHOOLS.
LEGAL SERVICES, LEGAL COUNSEL THROUGH THE CMA: THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDES FREE LEGAL ADVICE TO MEMBERS AND THEIR STAFF PHYSICIAN ADMINISTRATIVE DEFENSE.
