GRANTS AND ACADEMIC PROGRAM SUPPORT - THE FOUNDATION'S SUPPORT OF SOUTHWESTERN OREGON COMMUNITY COLLEGE INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, RECEIVING, INVESTING AND ADMINISTERING FUNDS HELD FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE COLLEGE AND ULTIMATELY, ITS STUDENTS. THE FOUNDATION UNDERTAKES SPECIAL PROJECTS TO SUPPORT INNOVATION AND INVESTMENST IN NEW PROGRAMS AND EQUIPMENT TO SUPPORT INSTRUCTION AND STUDENT SUCCESS. EFFORTS HAVE FOCUSED ON THE SCIENCES, NATURAL RESOURCES, HEALTH AND CULINARY PROGRAMS.


SCHOLARSHIPS - THE FOUNDATION AWARDED $293,929 IN SCHOLARSHIPS DURING 2022-23, ASSISTING 307 STUDENTS WITH TUITION, FEES, BOOKS, LIVING EXPENSES AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL EXPENSES. THIS INCLUDED THE FOUNDATION PROVIDING GED/TRANSITIONAL EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS PREPARING TO ENTER COLLEGE AND PURSUE CAREER TRAINING. THE FOUNDATION AWARDED 15 SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS EXPERIENCING TEMPORARY FINANCIAL EMERGENCIES TO ENSURE THEY WERE ABLE TO COMPLETE THEIR TERMS OF STUDY.
