THE GORGE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION'S MISSION IS TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN THE COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE BY BUILDING PERMANENT CHARITABLE ENDOWMENTS TO HELP FUND THE LONG TERM NEEDS AND OPPORTUNITIES IN OUR COMMUNITIES, IN THIS CASE HOOD RIVER OREGON. THE LAURA DOUGLAS SCHAEFER FUND OF THE GORGE FOUNDATION PROVIDES COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDENTS IN HOOD RIVER OREGON.
BAG PROGRAM-SUPERKID POWER. STARSEED PROVIDED 9000+ CANVAS TOTE BAGS AND 4000+ PENTEL FABRIC PEN COLOR SETS TO KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 6TH GRADE STUDENTS IN MULTIPLE SCHOOL DISTRICTS THROUGHOUT OREGON. THE SCHOOL PROJECTS WERE TO INTRODUCE CHILDREN TO REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE- THE BENFITS OF A MULTI-USE CANVAS BAG OVER A SINGLE USE PAPER BAG. ASHLAND AND MEDFORD DISTRICTS, SOUTHERN OREGON PROVIDED THEM TO ALL STUDENTS IN THEIR DISTRICTS.
DANCING GROUNDS IS A MULTIGENERATIONAL ARTS ORGANIZATION THAT BRINGS INCLUSIVE AND ACCESSIBLE DANCE PROGRAMS TO NEW ORLEANS RESIDENTS OF ALL AGES. SINCE 2012 DG HAS BECOME A DRIVING FORCE FOR ARTS AND EDUCATION IN NEW ORLEANS AND A HUB FOR THE LOCAL DANCE COMMUNITY, SERVING OVER 3,500 YOUTH, 7,000 ADULTS AND 10,000+ AUDIENCE MEMBERS.
HEAD START CLACKAMAS COUNTY-CLACKAMAS COUNTY CHILDRENS COMMISSION IS A GRANT FUNDED NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT SERVES OVER 800 CHILDREN AND FAMILIES THROUGHOUT CLACKAMAS COUNTY. WE PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE EARLY LEARNING AND FAMILY SERVICES AT NO COST TO QUALIFYING PREGNANT PEOPLE AND FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN AGES 0-5. IN 2020/2021 23% OF CHILDRENT HAVE A DISABILITY, 40% OF FAMILIES ARE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS, 16,155 POUNDS OF FREE FOOD PROVIDED.
