THE HOLLYWOOD FOREIGN PRESS ASSOCIATION (THE ASSOCIATION) WAS ORGANIZED TO PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT OF MOTION PICTURE, TELEVISION, DRAMATIC, MUSICAL AND COMEDY THEATER, AND AUDIO VISUAL RECORDING ART FORMS. THE ASSOCIATION IS A BUSINESS LEAGUE OF JOURNALISTS AND PHOTOGRAPHERS COVERING THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY FOR FOREIGN PUBLICATIONS. THE PRESS CONFERENCES HOSTED BY THE ASSOCIATION HELP STIMULATE AND PROMOTE INTEREST IN THE MOTION PICTURE, TELEVISION, THEATRICAL ARTS AND VISUAL RECORDING ART INDUSTRIES IN THE UNITED STATES AND ABROAD. THE ASSOCIATION ANNUALLY SPONSORS THE GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS WHICH RECOGNIZE OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN THE FIELDS OF MOTION PICTURES, THEATER, TELEVISION, AND THE VISUAL AND RECORDING ARTS.
