KNIGHTS BASEBALL CLUB, INC.2022 SEASON RECAPTHE CORVALLIS KNIGHTS APPEARED IN ITS FIFTEENTH CONSECUTIVE WEST COAST LEAGUE (WCL) POST-SEASON AND SET NEW TEAM ATTENDANCE RECORDS, ONCE AGAIN. AND CAPTURED ITS 9TH WCL TITLE BEATING BELLINGHAM IN THE FINALS: GOING BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK-TO-BACK FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FRANCHISE AND LEAGUE HISTORY. LEAGUE COMPETITION COMBINED WITH SPECIALIZED INSTRUCTION, COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT, WEIGHT TRAINING AND BEST-OF-BREED COACHING BENEFITED A GROUP OF OVER 40 STUDENT-ATHLETES AS EACH DEVELOPED HIS GAME AND DEVELOPED AS A PERSON OVER THE SUMMER. OUR STUDENT-ATHLETES ARE FURTHERING THEIR EDUCATION AT UNIVERSITIES, COLLEGES AND COMMUNITY COLLEGES THIS FALL/SPRING. MANY ARE EARNING SCHOLARSHIPS AS A RESULT OF THEIR BASEBALL SKILLS AND TIME WITH KNIGHTS BASEBALL CLUB.
WE ALSO CONTINUE TO SUPPORT OUR SPORTS BUSINESS INTERN PROGRAM. COLLEGE STUDENTS FROM OREGON STATE AND UNIVERSITY OF OREGON AND OTHER SCHOOLS GAINED PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE THIS PAST SUMMER WORKING FOR THE TEAM. THEY GAINED EXPERIENCE IN EVENT MANAGEMENT, TICKETING, CUSTOMER SERVICE, ENTERTAINMENT, FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVICES, BASEBALL DATA ANALYTICS; COMMUNITY AFFAIRS AND SALES & MARKETING.THE TEAM ALSO HOSTED ITS 10TH ANNUAL SCIENCE, ENGINEERING & ART DAY TO PROMOTE SCIENCE AND THE ARTS IN THE COMMUNITY. THE EVENT SOLD OUT AND FEATURED ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS FROM ALL OVER THE SURROUNDING AREAS.
