TOURNAMENT EXPENSES: THE DIRECT EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH "TOURNAMENT" ACTIVITIES CONSIST OF COSTS TO PROVIDE BASEBALL FIELDS IN THE GREATER LAS VEGAS VALLEY; UMPIRE FEES; BASEBALL EQUIPMENT; AND AWARDS TO THE PARTICIPANTS IN THE BASEBALL TOURNAMENTS PLANNED AND MONITORED BY VEGAS VALLEY BASEBALL, INC. DURING THE PERIOD JANUARY 1 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2021, THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY 10,492 YOUTHS BETWEEN THE AGES OF SIX TO EIGHTEEN WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE TOURNAMENT ACTIVITIES PROVIDED BY VEGAS VALLEY BASEBALL, INC. THE PARTICIPANTS WERE FROM VARIOUS PARTS OF THE UNITED STATES(INCLUDING THE LAS VEGAS AREA) THAT TRAVELED TO LAS VEGAS TO BE PART OF THE TOURNAMENT EXPERIENCE. AS A RESULT OF THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC DURING 2020 AND 2021, THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS HAS BEEN GREATLY REDUCED FROM THAT OF YEARS PRIOR TO THE PANDEMIC.
LEAGUE EXPENSES: THE DIRECT EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH "LEAGUE" ACTIVITIES CONSIST OF UMPIRE FEES; UNIFORMS; USE OF BASEBALL FIELDS; BASEBALL EQUIPMENT; FIELD MONITORING; AND AWARDS TO PARTICIPANTS IN LOCAL YOUTH BASEBALL LEAGUES. TRAINING IS PROVIDED FOR YOUTH BASEBALL PLAYERS AND UMPIRES FROM AGES SIX TO EIGHTEEN AND VARIOUS SKILL CLINICS ARE HELD DURING THE YEAR TO INCREASE THEIR ABILITY AND KNOWLEDGE IN THE GAME OF BASEBALL. DURING THE PERIOD JANUARY 1 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2021, THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY 1,164 CHILDREN WHO PARTICIPATED IN INSTRUCTIONAL LEAGUES/TEAMS AND USSSA TEAMS WHO COMPETED IN LOCAL BASEBALL ACTIVITIES IN THE LAS VEGAS VALLEY WHERE VEGAS VALLEY BASEBALL, INC. PROVIDED THE UMPIRES AND SUPERVISION REQUIRED TO MAKE LOCAL YOUTH BASEBALL A SAFE AND ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE FOR PARTICIPATING YOUTH. AS A RESULT OF THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC DURING 2020 AND 2021, THE NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS HAS BEEN GREATLY REDUCED FROM THAT OF YEARS PRIOR TO THE PANDEMIC.
