THE MISSION OF THE FOUNDATION IS TO GENERATE AND DISTRIBUTE RESOURCES THAT ENRICH AND ENHANCE EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL STUDENTS, ENCOURAGE TEACHERS TO IMPLEMENT INNOVATIVE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, AND AWARD SCHOLARSHIPS TO GREATER ALBANY PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT STUDENTS.

Part 3 - Line 4a

SCHOLARSHIPS TO HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: AFTER INDIVIDUAL APPLICATIONS ARE APPROVED BY THE BOARD, SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AWARDED TO GRADUATING STUDENTS WHO WILL BE ATTENDING HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS. A TOTAL OF 140 TRADITIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS WERE AWARDED TO GRADUATING STUDENTS ATTENDING COLLEGE AND/OR TRADE SCHOOL.


OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES INCLUDES DISTANCE LEARNING SUPPORT, SUICIDE PREVENTION AND OTHER GRANTS TO SCHOOL GROUPS EARNED THROUGH EVENT PARTICIPATION IN THE IRUN FOR KIDS AND ICELEBRATE KIDS EVENTS.


STUDENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM -- K-12 & POST-SECONDARY: K-12 ASSISTANCE PROVIDES BASIC NEEDS FOR LOW-INCOME STUDENTS. POST- SECONDARY ASSISTANCE PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS CHOSEN BY EACH OF THE THREE ALBANY HIGH SCHOOLS. SUPPORT INCLUDES MENTORS, SCHOOL SUPPLIES, AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE.


CLASSROOM & ENRICHMENT GRANT PROGRAMS FOR PRE-K THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL: THE CLASSROOM GRANT AND ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS PROVIDE FUNDS TO OUR SCHOOLS TO SUPPLEMENT THEIR ARTS, PE/HEALTH/WELLNESS, AND STEM ACTIVITIES. GRANT PROGRAMS INCLUDE THE BIG IMPACT GRANT, CLASSROOM GRANTS, ENRICHMENT GRANTS, SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCE GRANTS, DONOR DESIGNATED GRANTS, OTHER GRANTS, STEM GRANTS, AND SUICIDE PREVENTION.
