KLAMATH HOSPICE PROVIDES QUALITY END-OF-LIFE CARE FOR TERMINALLY ILL PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN THE COUNTY OF KLAMATH IN OREGON, AND ALSO IN PARTS OF MODOC AND SISKIYOU COUNTIES IN CALIFORNIA. DURING 2021, KLAMATH HOSPICE CARED FOR 327 PATIENTS AND PROVIDED 23,127 DAYS OF CARE FOR PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES REGARDLESS OF THEIR FINANCIAL SITUATION.
KLAMATH HOSPICE PROVIDES BEREAVEMENT SERVICES FREE OF CHARGE. THESE SERVICES INCLUDE PATIENT/FAMILY FOLLOW-UP FOR AT LEAST 13 MONTHS FOLLOWING THE PATIENTS DEATH, COMMUNITY GRIEF SUPPORT GROUPS AND WORKSHOPS, INDIVIDUAL ONE-ONE-ONE COUNSELING, REMEMBRANCE SERVICES, AND A 5 DAY, OVERNIGHT BEREAVEMENT CAMP FOR APPROXIMATELY 50 YOUTH, AGES 8-17.
KLAMATH HOSPICE PROVIDES A PALLIATIVE CARE PROGRAM FOR IN-HOME CARE FOR THOSE SERIOUSLY ILL INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE OFTEN UNABLE TO LEAVE THEIR HOME. THE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED FOR PATIENTS WHO DO NOT MEET HOSPICE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS; OR PATIENTS WHO ARE STILL SEEKING CURATIVE TREATMENT AND THEREBY DONT QUALIFY FOR HOSPICE SERVICES; OR PATIENTS WHO QUALIFY FOR HOSPICE SERVICES BUT ARE NOT YET READY FOR HOSPICE. IN 2021, THE NUMBER OF PATIENTS WHO RECEIVED PALLIATIVE CARE SERVICES WAS 9 PATIENTS.
