PROVIDING WORKSHOPS AND TRAININGS HELD AROUND THE STATE ALL YEAR LONG. FORMS, BOOKS, AND A NEWSLETTER ARE MADE AVAILABLE TO ASSIST LANDLORDS, PROVIDING HOW-TO ARTICLES AND INFORMATION ON WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE INDUSTRY.
LOBBYING AND LEGISLATIVE EFFORTS ARE AIMED AT INFLUENCING LEGISLATION THAT WILL IMPACT PROPERTY MANAGERS. EFFORTS DURING THE YEAR INCLUDE WORKING WITH OTHER TRADE GROUPS AND TENANT ADVOCATES TO IMPROVE LEGISLATION AFFECTING LANDLORDS AND TENANTS; AND EDUCATING LAW-MAKING BODIES AT THE STATE AND LOCAL LEVEL ON THE IMPACT OF PROPOSED LEGISLATION. ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDE PASSAGE OF OUR 1 PRIORITY BILL, AN OMNIBUS BILL SUPPORTED BY LANDLORD TRADE GROUPS AND TENANT ADVOCATES, AND STOPPING A BILL THAT WOULD HAVE MANDATED LANDLORDS ACCEPTING SECTION 8 VOUCHERS.
