CONDUCTED SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH TOWARD THE LONG-TERM GOAL OF ADVANCING BRAIN BANKING AND BRAIN PRESERVATION METHODS. RESEARCH ACTIVITIES INCLUDED REVIEWING PROTOCOLS FOR IMPROVED PRESERVATION PROCEDURES, INVESTIGATING TECHNIQUES TO ASSESS PRESERVATION QUALITY, AND EXPLORING STRATEGIES FOR LONG-TERM STORAGE OF BRAIN TISSUE IN FLUID PRESERVATIONS. THE ORGANIZATION MADE PROGRESS IN ESTABLISHING A FRAMEWORK FOR A BRAIN BANK, INCLUDING WORK TOWARD OBTAINING IRB REVIEW OF THE PROTOCOLS. THESE EFFORTS AIM TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY AND AVAILABILITY OF PRESERVED BRAIN TISSUE FOR NEUROSCIENCE RESEARCH.
