SALCHA FIRE & RESCUE EMERGENCY RESPONDERS PROVIDE "24 HOUR/7 DAYS A WEEK" EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE AND FIRE PROTECTION RESPONSE, AS WELL AS COMMUNITY RISK REDUCTION EDUCATION, FOR APPROXIMATELY 1385 RESIDENTS OF THE SALCHA COMMUNITY AND THE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE TRAVELING THROUGH THE SALCHA AREA. VOLUNTEERS MAINTAIN AND USE EMERGENCY RESPONSE EQUIPMENT SUPPLIED THROUGH VARIOUS GROUPS AND ORGANIZATIONS INCLUDING THE CODE RED PROJECT, CODE BLUE PROJECT, DONATED APPARATUS FROM AREA DEPARTMENTS, AND EQUIPMENT RECEIVED THROUGH GRANTS AND OTHER DONATIONS. VOLUNTEER RESPONDERS ARE STATE AND/OR NATIONAL QUALIFIED AND/OR CERTIFIED.
