MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL UMPIRES ASSOCIATION IS THE EXCLUSIVE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING REPRESENTATIVE FOR ALL REGULAR FULL-TIME MAJOR LEAGUE UMPIRES EMPLOYED BY THE OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER OF MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL. THE BARGAINING UNIT CURRENTLY CONSISTS OF 76 UMPIRES.MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL UMPIRES ASSOCIATION OCCASIONALLY PROVIDES GRANTS TO CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS IN HONOR OF CURRENT OR FORMER UMPIRES OR MEMBERS OF THEIR FAMILIES, OR TO ASSIST RETIRED UMPIRES AND THEIR FAMILIES WHO MAY HAVE FALLEN ON HARD TIMES.
