SUPPORTING THE SPOKANE PUBLIC LIBRARY - THE SPOKANE PUBLIC LIBRARY FOUNDATION SEEKS TO DEVELOP PRIVATE SUPPORT TO ENHANCE, NOT REPLACE PUBLIC SPENDING ON THE LIBRARY SYSTEM. DISTRIBUTIONS ARE DESIGNATED TO EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT, PROGRAMMING, TECHNOLOGY, FACILITY, AND BUILDING GRANTS.
PARTNERSHIPS AND ADVOCACY - HALL OF FAME - THE SPOKANE CITIZEN'S HALL OF FAME RECOGNIZES INDIVIDUALS IN SPOKANE FOR THEIR ACHIEVEMENT IN ONE OF SIX CATEGORIES, WHILE PROVIDING AN OPPORTUNITY TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE SPOKANE PUBLIC LIBRARY THROUGH THIS ANNUAL EVENT.
STARTING DECEMBER 2017, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SPOKANE PUBLIC LIBRARY, THE FOUNDATION PARTICIPATES IN A MONTHLY LIVE TALK SHOW CALLED "LILAC CITY LIVE" WHICH IS HOSTED MONTHLY. THE TALK SHOW FEATURES LOCAL SPOKANE TALENT, BRINGING IN DIFFERENT AUTHORS, MUSICIANS, ARTISTS AND COMEDIANS. THE FOUNDATION SERVES DONATED WINE AND BEER AT THE EVENT FOR WHICH PROCEEDS BENEFIT THE LIBRARY.
