BENEFITS LAW CENTER PROVIDES ACCESSIBLE LEGAL ADVOCACY TO PEOPLE LIVING WITH PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DISABILITIES SO THAT THEY MAY OBTAIN THE RESOURCES NECESSARY TO OVERCOME BARRIERS TO FINANCIAL AND MEDICAL STABILITY. WE FURTHER OUR MISSION THROUGH TARGETED ADVOCACY PROJECTS THAT HELP PEOPLE WITH SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY PROBLEMS.

THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADVOCACY PROJECT (SSAP):HELPING PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES WHO ALREADY RECEIVE SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS BY PROVIDING LEGAL ASSISTANCE WITH PROBLEMS THAT ARISE WITH THEIR BENEFITS. IN 2021, THE CENTER SERVED 275 CLIENTS IN ITS SSAP PROJECT.
THE DISABLED HOMELESS ADVOCACY PROJECT (DHAP):HELPING PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES WHO EXPERIENCE HOMELESSNESS BY PROVIDING LEGAL AID RELATED TO SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS. IN 2021, THE CENTER SERVED 124 CLIENTS IN ITS DHAP PROGRAM.
