PARKS PROJECT: GRANTS TO THE BAINBRIDGE ISLAND METROPOLITAN PARK AND RECREATION DISTRICT (BIMPRD) FOR PARK ENHANCEMENT PROJECTS. THESE GRANTS SUPPORT PARKS FACILITIES AND RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH GRANTS FOR PARK STEWARDSHIP, SPECIAL PROJECTS AND PASS-THROUGH GRANTS FOR PROJECTS. THE BAINBRIDGE ISLAND PARKS & TRAILS FOUNDATION ADVOCATES FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS INTERESTS IN PARK SERVICES AND RECREATIONAL AMENITIES.


TRAIL PROJECTS: ADVOCACY AND PROJECT ACTIVITY TO CONNECT COMMUNITY INTEREST TO THE EXPANSION, FUNDING AND MAINTENANCE SUPPORT OF THE BAINBRIDGE ISLAND PUBLIC TRAIL SYSTEM, LARGELY MANAGED BY THE BAINBRIDGE ISLAND METROPOLITAN PARK & RECREATION DISTRICT.


COMMUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM: INCLUDES TWO DISTINCT GRANTS PROGRAMS. THE PARKS FOUNDATION COMMUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM PROVIDES FUNDING SUPPORT FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS THAT IMPROVE RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES ON BAINBRIDGE ISLAND. THE JAY ABBOTT YOUTH ACTIVITY FUND GRANTS PROVIDES FUNDING SUPPORT FOR MENTORING ACTIVITIES IN PROGRAMS AND PROGRAMS ENGAGING BAINBRIDGE ISLAND YOUTH IN SAILING, MOUNTAIN BIKING, AND SKIING PROGRAMS.
